Story 1: A Summer of Learning and Confidence

From Struggling Reader to Confident Student

When Jayden, a third-grade student, joined TOP CDC’s Summer Reading Program, he struggled with reading and lacked confidence in the classroom. Throughout the summer, caring volunteers and educators provided personalized support, engaging activities, and encouragement that helped him discover a love for books.

By the end of the program, Jayden had improved his reading skills, gained confidence, and returned to school excited to learn. Today, he continues to build on that progress, proving that a little support can create lifelong opportunities.

Story 2: Food Pantry Brings Hope

A Helping Hand During Difficult Times

After losing her job, Maria, a single mother of two, faced the difficult decision of choosing between paying bills and buying groceries. Through the TOP Food & Goods Pantry, her family received nutritious food, hygiene products, and everyday essentials during a challenging season.

The support eased immediate financial stress and allowed Maria to focus on finding stable employment. Today, she has returned to work and continues to support the organization that once supported her.

Story 3: Volunteers Making a Difference

When David retired, he wanted to find a meaningful way to serve his community. He joined TOP CDC as a volunteer and began helping with food distributions, youth events, and community outreach programs.

The annual Community Block Party brings together families, healthcare providers, local businesses, volunteers, and community partners for a day of celebration and support.

Families receive free meals, health resources, school supplies, children’s activities, entertainment, and valuable community services—all in a welcoming environment that strengthens neighborhood connections.

For many attendees, it’s more than an event—it’s a reminder that their community cares.
